This is an excursion full of San Martin history, since it is the route that part of the Army of the Andes traveled in their liberation campaign in Chile and Peru in 1817. We take the old route to Chile. We pass through Cerro de la Cal, where the minerals that will become Portland cement are extracted. We arrive at the Canota Monument, which symbolizes the separation of the Columns of the Army of the Andes. We arrive at the Vaquerías post: entrance area to the Villavicencio Natural Reserve. Here we will find an interpretation center that shows us the flora and fauna of the place. The Villavicencio Visitor Center and Hotel, along with the guided tour service (fee not included), is run by the Villavicencio Foundation, an institution founded to collaborate in the social and collaborative construction of an environmentally responsible citizenry that has sustainability as its axis. We continue the excursion to the Hotel Termas de Villavicencio where we will tour the beautiful gardens with their flora incorporated into the landscape and the picturesque Chapel of the hotel. To finish the excursion we will ascend to the Mirador de los Caracoles and the valley.
